INGREDIENTS
- 6 egg whites, room temperature*
- 1 ¼ cups (280g) caster sugar
- 1 tbsp. cornflour
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp white vinegar
- Whipped cream & fresh fruit to serve
METHOD
- Line the flat baking tray from the Air Fryer Steam Oven with kitchen baking paper and trace a 20cm circle onto the paper.
- Place the egg whites into a very clean bowl of a Cuisinart Air Fryer Steam Oven. Secure the whisk attachment in place. Using the manual setting begin to whisk the egg whites on speed 2 for 2 minutes then increase to speed 6 for about 5 minutes or until soft peaks form.
- Begin to add the sugar 1 tablespoon at a time and whisk on speed 8 until dissolved before adding more (to check take a small amount of egg white mixture and rub between two fingers if it feels grainy it needs a little longer whisking). The total time of adding the sugar and whisking will be about 15 minutes.
- Lastly add the cornflour, vanilla and vinegar and whisk to just combine.
- Using a large spoon begin to spoon the meringue mix onto the paper on the baking tray within the circle working as best you can to form a round even shape.
- Place the tray into the Gourmet Pro oven in position 1 (bottom shelf) and cook on convection bake at 120C for 45 mins. When cooked open the oven door, and leave slightly ajar. For the best result it’s important to allow the pavlova to cool completely in the oven.
- Serve with whipped cream, passionfruit, fresh berries or fruit of choice.
