The air fryer works its magic, delivering a healthier version of this gourmet delight, where each prawn is crisped to golden perfection without the need for deep-frying. Perfect for a summer gathering or a cozy dinner, these prawns are a surefire way to impress your guests and satisfy your cravings for something uniquely delicious.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 50g plain flour
  • Salt & freshly ground pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 50g panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp. shredded coconut
  • 12 uncooked king prawns, peeled with tails left on 
  • Olive oil for spraying

METHOD

  1. In a shallow bowl combine the flour, salt and pepper. In a second bowl, mix the egg with a fork, until well beaten. Finally in a third bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and coconut.
  2. Coat each prawn with the seasoned flour, followed by the beaten egg and finally with the breadcrumb and coconut mix.
  3. Spread the prawns evenly in the basket and spray on both sides with the olive oil. Place the cooking basket into position 1 (top shelf) of the Gourmet Pro Multifuctional Combi Oven and place the baking tray underneath into position 2 to catch any crumbs.
  4. Set to Air fry at 180˚C, for 4 minutes each side - turning to ensure the prawns are evenly golden and crispy.
  5. Serve with a dipping sauce, such as sweet and sour or alternatively an aioli mayonnaise.
