No need to pull out a separate baking dish when cooking in the ClearView Glass Basket Air Fryer. Just mix the filling, add the topping, and crisp to perfection!
Ingredients
Filling:
- 2 pounds mixed fruit (plums, peaches, strawberries, blackberries, etc.), pitted and trimmed as needed, and cut into 1-inch pieces (small berries can be left whole)
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- Pinch kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1½ tablespoons tapioca starch
Topping:
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2/3 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Preparation
- Put the filling ingredients directly into the air fryer basket, without the crisper plate in place. Toss well.
- Put all the topping ingredients except the butter into a mixing bowl and combine. Add the butter. Using either a pastry blender or your fingers, work the butter into the dry ingredients. Once the butter is evenly distributed, sprinkle over the fruit.
- Select Air Fry at 325°F for 35 minutes, and then press Start. Different fruits may require more or less time, depending on the firmness and ripeness. Use the tines of a fork or the tip of a paring knife to determine if the fruit is fully cooked. Add cooking time if necessary.
- Remove the basket from the unit and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. This crisp is delicious paired with freshly whipped cream or ice cream.
